Step 1

Open the DMG

Double-click the download and drag WrapScribe into Applications. That's the whole install.

WrapScribe walks you through microphone and Accessibility permissions — dictation types wherever your cursor is, so macOS asks once.

Paste your licence key

One key covers up to three of your Macs. After that, hold a key, talk, release — your words land at the cursor.

The download is free.
Transcribing isn't.

WrapScribe won't transcribe a word without an activated licence, so grabbing the DMG without one gets you exactly nothing. One key activates up to three of your own Macs, and once a Mac is activated it stays that way offline, indefinitely.

Added

  • Cancelling a dictation no longer destroys it. The audio is kept, and the Dashboard shows “This transcription was dismissed” with a Recover link — click it and WrapScribe transcribes the saved audio, runs the usual cleanup, and turns the row into a normal transcript ready to copy.
  • The menu bar wears the WrapScribe mark instead of a generic waveform, the recording timer keeps ticking while the menu is held open, and a quiet ellipsis appears while a transcript is still processing.
  • The menu bar icon can be hidden entirely, in Settings → General, for an invisible app driven by shortcuts alone.

Fixed

  • Dictating into Chrome — and other Chromium or Electron apps — pastes into the focused field again, instead of landing in the copy card.
  • Installing an update over a running copy no longer leaves two WrapScribes fighting over the hotkeys.
  • The copy card earned its keep: no more square shadow-halo, it appears at your pill's position, it wears the mark, and it dismisses itself once you hit Copy.

Changed

  • Releases are signed with a Developer ID and notarized, with the same code identity every time — so permissions survive updates, and Settings → Check for Updates installs new versions in place.

Older releases stay listed here. From 1.3.0 on you can also read them inside the app, under Settings → Check for Updates.

From 1.3.0 on, updates arrive in the app: Settings → Check for Updates downloads the new build, verifies it carries the same publisher signature as the copy you are running, and installs it in place — rolling back on its own if anything goes wrong. Audio and transcripts never leave your Mac.
